We are looking for two enthusiastic and self-motivated midwives with a special interest in vaccine research to join our growing Vaccine research team working at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holders will be key members of the vaccine clinical research delivery team and provide research and clinical support for participants taking part in paediatric and maternal vaccine studies. The post holders will have the opportunity to lead on identified vaccine studies with the support of senior staff. You will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of maternal vaccine studies. This will include being responsible for supporting participant identification recruitment, and subsequent care and follow up of research participants.
This role involves liaison with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality research, data collection and clinical care, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare. The post holder will be expected to advocate for participants and families and empower them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical research studies by providing advice and information. The post holder will work with a high level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
Clinical research experience would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as is an ability to work flexibly both independently and within a team.
