QE Maternity unit is a consultant led obstetric unit The unit prides itself on the partnership working between midwifery and medical teams; which enables ‘wraparound’ care to all women. We aim to ensure that women are at the core of everything we do, and we wrap her care providers, and birth supporters around her as required rather than moving the women to achieve different acuity pathways.

We are working continuously towards improving and developing our services to provide care which is in line with the Maternity transformation agenda and key to this is facilitating the implemention of the Saving Babies Lives care bundle version 2. You will be part of the specialist midwifery team who are pivotal to the delivery of these changes and will support the quality and safety of our maternity service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic midwife to come and join our senior midwifery team on a permanent basis. You will have an enthusiam for all aspects of fetal monitoring and an ability to work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver training, support, audit and quality improvement.

We are passionate about ensuring that every woman and baby that uses our service remembers a positive experience, whilst receiving the safest, high quality care.

We expect standards of professional behavior in accordance with the NMC Code (2015) and the Trust Values, that you will be expected to role model at all times.

Collaboratively we will support and encourage high standards of clinical expertise underpinned by a robust governance framework to ensure that GHFT delivers high quality, safe evidence based care to women and their babies.

This is an exciting and challenging time for all maternity services as we strive to implement the National Maternity Transformation programme within our local maternity system.
