An opportunity has arisen to join the immunisation team based in the antenatal clinic at Leicester General Hospital (LGH). You will join a small team of friendly nurses and midwives already in post delivering care and advice to our pregnant population. The post is based at the LGH but may involve some cross site working. Currently the antenatal clinic is open between 08.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday. The post is for 22.5 hours a week which is worked as 3 x 7.5 hour shifts. The exact days will be discussed at interview.

The role includes counselling pregnant women about immunisations available in pregnancy and giving the appropriate vaccines. Leicester is a culturally diverse city and we feel it is important that all of our patients have access to the same information and care. Some computer skills are required to navigate E3 and ICE. There is also data to collect to submit to NHS England so some basic understanding of excel spreadsheets is an advantage.

You will need to be nurse or midwife with a minimum of a year post registration experience. It will be an advantage if you have been immunisation trained already, however this is not essential as training can be given once in post.
