We are looking to expand our team of midwives to support the implementation of Continuity of Care and would be interested in applications from highly motivated and innovative midwives who would like to join this high performing Trust.
We have a staged approach to the implementation of Continuity of Care and we would like applications from midwives who are interested in any of the 3 posts below:
Continuity of Care midwife post - ready to join a Continuity of Care team immediately
Community midwife post - to support us in our traditional community midwifery models prior to the full implementation of Continuity of Care at which point you will join at Continuity of Care team
Maternity Unit Midwife Post - to support our maternity unit based services prior to implementation of full Continuity of Carer at which point you will join a Continuity of Care team
Main duties of the job
To organise own time and that of support staff and students.
To support senior members of staff in the management and supervision of the defined clinical area.
To support the experienced midwife in the management of a defined clinical caseload when working in the community setting, including supporting the provision of a homebirth service.
To undertake on call to cover service requirements in the hospital.
To undertake regular on call duties when in the community, fully supported at all times at homebirths.

The multi professional maternity teams are already achieving well in national safety initiative such as those associated with PreCePT, Attain, PeriPrem programmes and we have a wide range of maternity improvement and transformation projects in progress.
