Our Maternity Services in Cornwall have recently been transformed with national recognition which we are immensely proud of. As a result, we have had overwhelming executive support to progress our strategy for Better Births and our Maternity Transformation Agenda. We are now looking for enthusiastic midwives to join our fabulous team to support our vision.

As well as actively encouraging a strong work-life balance to enjoy our beautiful county, we have an embedded our "Caring for You" philosophy which puts all our staff at the centre of everything we do. Come and work for a maternity service in one of the most beautiful places on earth AND who cares for you!

Our Maternity Unit is in the first wave of the National Safety Collaborative and we are striving towards our aim of being one of the safest units in the country. We are proud of our home birth rate which is greatly above the national average. Our fabulous alongside birth unit has been open since 2017 and whilst other maternity services are closing their stand-a-lone midwifery units, we have invested in our three community birth facilities, giving women true choice and personalisation. Our community and birth centre birth rate is regularly around 30% and we are being congratulated on the work we are doing within our Transformation Agenda and Better Births Initiative. It really is a very exciting place to be a midwife!

Despite the challenges the current Covid-19 Pandemic has had, we are proud to say that our team has not reduced our service in any way. All of our 4 birth centres have remained open and active and our home birth service has gone from strength to strength. We can offer you the chance to gain experience in all areas of midwifery practice with one of our rotational posts. This includes the opportunity to join one of our community teams offering true "Continuity of Care". All our team members join an innovative multidisciplinary training week and we value our staff development. There are lots of opportunities to be involved with quality improvement initiatives and we have embedded the use of ImproveWell, our staff engagement app, to enable us to truly listen to you, your ideas and support you to action them. Our management approach is collaborative and respectful and we will support you to be the best you can be. We know that this is the only way that our women and their families will get the best care possible.
