Our purpose is simple - Putting Patients First. We are looking for exceptional colleagues who can help us achieve this.

We’re a large organisation, providing acute services from the Alexandra Hospital (Redditch), Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre and Worcestershire Royal Hospital (Worcester) to a population of over 575,000 people in Worcestershire, as well as caring for patients from surrounding counties and further afield. We also manage a Surgery ward at Evesham Community Hospital.

Our workforce is nearly 6,000 strong, and our caring staff are recognised as providing good and outstanding patient-centred care. You could be one of them.

We are committed to recruiting the best people to work with us to achieve our Vision - working in partnership to provide the best healthcare for our communities, leading and supporting our teams to move 4ward. Our 4ward behaviours, which we ask all staff to demonstrate, underpin our everyday work and remain firmly at the heart of all we do.

It’s an exciting time to join the Trust. In partnership with staff, patients and partners, we are developing of our Clinical Services Strategy which will outline how our services will be organised effectively across our sites into the future. Our Clinical Services Strategy will build on the improvements already put in place in recent years, following the Future of Acute Hospital Services in Worcestershire review which has seen improved outcomes in a number of areas, including maternity and children’s services.

Our objectives are simple:

Best services for local people

Best experience of care and best outcomes for our patients

Best use of resources

Best people.

If you can help us to achieve these; if your vision matches our vision; and you believe in Putting Patients First, we would love to hear from you!

In return, we commit to investing in our staff to ensure that we retain and develop the right people, with the right skills, who care about and take pride in, putting patients first.

MIDWIFE - BAND 5 / BAND 6 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

We would like to invite you to join our highly motivated midwifery team where commitment to providing high quality, woman-centered care is evident.

Worcestershire Maternity service delivers around 5250 babies per annum. We are forward thinking with motivated staff who strive to improve the quality of the service that we offer to our women, their babies and their families.

We require self motivated, dynamic, professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our proactive maternity unit.

Midwives nearing completion of their Preceptorship period are invited to apply for the Band 6 posts alongside experienced Band 6 midwives. All posts will include shift working (including night duty and potentially on calls) and rotation throughout our maternity services. The successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation programme and are assured that they will receive appropriate support. For newly qualified midwives, we offer a 12 month comprehensive preceptorship programme and an opportunity to work throughout our maternity services including our awarding winning birth centre.

We are committed to implementing Better Births across our maternity services and as part of this project we are expanding our continuity of carer teams within Worcestershire County. We will be increasing our models of care where midwives and obstetricians work collaboratively to support women in their caseload. Would you like to work autonomouslywith a supportive team of likeminded midwives, managing your own diary to care for women throughout their maternity journey and attend their births? If you would like to be a part of these exciting new teams, then we would also like to hear from you. We have fantastic opportunities for both band 6 and newly qualified midwives.
