An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to lead on the improvement of intrapartum risk assessment and fetal monitoring. In accordance with element 4 of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle (Version 2). Effective fetal monitoring during labour. You will be part of the Education Team.

We want to hear from you if you are confident, organised and a passionate midwife who is able to lead and facilitate a programme aimed at training the midwives and obstetricians to increase their knowledge and competence in identifying fetal well-being, potential compromise and actual fetal compromise in all clinical settings and improve clinical decision making.

Have you attended additional midwifery training e.g. CTG, Examination of the Newborn, PROMPT, ALSO, HDU Module and NLS?

The role requirements include:
• To provide comprehensive training and competency assessment to all staff responsible for fetal assessment and well-being.
• To lead on Fresh eyes and Fresh Ears processes and compliance.
• Lead in developing midwives' competence in undertaking intelligent intermittent auscultation of the fetal heart in low risk women as per the Trust and NICE guidelines.
• Supporting the education team to teach and facilitate mandatory training for all maternity staff.
• Good personal and communication skills and the ability to work within a dynamic team
• Responsibilities will include maintaining training databases, collating reports and having good computer skills e.g. Excel
