An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Patient Safety Midwives,1 at UHL and 1 at QEW.

Do you have at least 3 years band 6 experience? Are you interested in patient safety, risk management and promoting a positive culture of learning, If so, then this is the post for you. This Role will enable to you to develop professionally by gaining experience and insight into risk management policies and processes and learning how to evaluate and grade clinical incidents, ensure incidents are reviewed in a timely manner and participate in management activities.

You will be responsible for reviewing clinical and non-clinical incidents within maternity which have been submitted via the Trust's incident reporting system; appraising the incidents, identifying and investigating issues, themes or trends that may arise and developing action plans if required. Other aspects of the role include compiling reports for Directorate meetings, supporting the Clinical Governance Lead in maintaining action logs and the risk register, representing the maternity patient safety team as required and partaking in audit and guideline development. The role requires a reasonable amount of previous clinical experience, IT skills, ability to communicate to members of the team and basic report writing skills.

Please be aware you will need to prepare a 10 minute presentation on ' How does Human factors impact on patient safety' and present this as part of your interview if you are shortlisted.
