We are seeking a qualified Midwife to work nights to provide antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care to both mother and baby during their stay, which is a rural unique setting which offers rest, recuperation and support of new mums and their babies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To establish and maintain the highest standard of care.
• To promote the good reputation of the service.
• To carry out daily post partum checks, recording observations in the hand held notes.
• To continuously asses and monitor mother and baby.
• To support mothers in seeking advice from local medical practitioners when appropriate.
• In an emergency to give appropriate basic life support.
• Where necessary, accompany the mother and / or baby to hospital.
• To promote confidentiality at all times.
• To establish and maintain a good relationship between mothers, staff and visitors.
• To allocate duties and tasks to HCSWs and NurseryNurses.
• To assist with training all staff in the nursery area.
Skills & Experience:
• NMC Registered as a Midwife.
• Basic Adult and Newborn Life Support is essential.
• A Teaching and Mentorship course is desirable.
