The Women’s Health Unit
The Women’s Health Unit has an 8 bedded delivery suite and a 22 bedded ante/postnatal ward. There are approximately 2000 births per year in the region.
As a progressive unit, they have been working on developing specialist roles such as Diabetes Midwife, Perinatal Midwife and Maternity Clinical Information Systems (MCIS) Midwife. They also have 24/7 Charge Midwife/ACM leadership and other midwifery leadership opportunities.
They are the only maternity unit in the country to introduce a new Induction of Labour Protocol which has dramatically reduced their caesarean section rates for women experiencing induction of labour. Their midwives work in partnership with women and their families/whanau, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective care.
Hours of work will be up to full time working rostered and rotating shifts.
A competitive remuneration package is being offered as well as a generous relocation package.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a registered Midwife.
• Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Midwifery Council.
