This is an exciting opportunity for driven and motivated midwives to become part of our Continuity of Carer teams who will provide full continuity of carer to a cohort of women in County Durham. This is in line with local and national service developments and reflects the recommendations outlined in the ‘Better Births’ National Maternity Review.
We are looking for midwives who are committed and passionate to provide continuity of carer during all three stages of a woman’s maternity journey. As a case-loading midwife you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of individualised care plans which ensures the woman’s needs are holistically cared for and a relationship which is built on mutual respect and trust.
These vacancies are at Band 6 to gain experience in all aspects of midwifery care within the two Acute sites, community and home birth. Research has shown continuity of carer models can have safer outcomes, therefore we invite you to become a part of a new innovative team who aim to improve the experience and outcomes for women and their babies, and further supporting public health initiatives in relation to healthy lifestyle, smoking cessation, fetal well-being and breastfeeding.
