Approximately 6200 babies are born each year at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and we offer women personalised care and choice of home birth, freestanding birth centre, alongside birth centre and multi-disciplinary care on our labour ward.

Better Births, improving outcomes of maternity services in England (2016) highlights the need for multi-professional working to deliver world-class safe, personalised care for women and their babies. Maternity support workers are an integral part of the maternity workforce and play an important role in supporting midwives and the wider maternity teams, mothers and their babies through pregnancy, labour and during the postnatal period.

At Mid Yorkshire Hospitals we are passionate about ensuring women have a positive experience each and every time, and are committed in supporting our teams to develop professionally. If you have a passion for clinical excellence and patient care then Mid Yorkshire is the Trust for you! We will help you get off to a flying start with a structured induction programme that includes a two week supernumerary period with support from our expert team of midwives & maternity support workers. You will also be supported through a robust training package which will enable you to support women and their families through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period.
