A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time midwife to join the Community Health Team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

About the role
This role is part of the Community Health Team in British Forces Brunei delivering evidence-based, woman focussed maternity care to women and families of the entitled population. We are seeking an experienced Community Midwife to be part of the provision of a full-time community midwifery service working closely with military and civilian colleagues in primary care and host nation providers of secondary care. You will work with a midwifery colleague and be responsible for delivering and developing community midwifery within Brunei Command, including antenatal and postnatal care, facilitating parent education workshops and support groups and taking part in on-call and weekend working.

A relocation package is available for this role.

About the team
The SSAFA team in Brunei consists of Health Visitors, Midwives and Social Workers, supported by the provision of a visiting Speech and Language Therapist and outreach clinical supervision and support from the Professional Lead for Midwifery. It is fully integrated into and located within the MOD Primary Care Medical Facility.

About you
To carry out this role successfully you will be an NMC registered Midwife with relevant post qualification community experience, be prepared to work flexibly to meet service needs and have an interest in delivering parent education sessions. Experience of working within a military environment and working with a diverse population would be an advantage. Experience of working in a remote location, experience in decision making and audit skills and the ability to work autonomously, as well as being an effective team player, are essential.

SSAFA is an employer that values the diversity of its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

No agencies please. Any unsolicited submissions from agencies will be accepted as a direct application from the candidate and no fees will be payable.
