The post holder carries continuing overall clinical and managerial responsibility for Orchard Ward and the Delivery Suite. The post holder will provide professional leadership and Clinical Midwifery expertise for these areas leading teams of midwives, nurses, maternity support workers and other support staff, and working closely with obstetric colleagues to ensure that the service provided is of the highest standard and sensitive to the needs of women and their families.
In conjunction with the HOM, you will be responsible for leading, advancing and implementing new service developments, incorporating local and national initiatives within service plans.
The post holder will have direct clinical involvement in the care provided and will be seen as the expert midwife for the clinical areas. The post holder will fulfil the role of change agent working with the Head of Midwifery, Obstetric Team and PMA team to identify and achieve a service which reflects the recommendations of National and Regional Guidelines & DOH Reports and recommendations regarding maternity care.
