Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit has been completed, and building development has also commenced for our new Neonatal Unit and soon to commence on our Emergency Department.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered midwives to join our Community Midwifery Team for Walsall Healthcare Trust. You will be experienced, enthusiastic and caring and must be able to work autonomously, demonstrating excellent clinical skills to provide effective, individualised women centered care.
You will be the named midwife for a designated caseload of women, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care in GP surgeries, in the home environment and within midwife led settings, providing one to one care during labour.
Our community midwives promote normality and the use of alternative therapies for the benefit of low-risk women. If you are looking for the opportunity to work innovatively, using a continuity of carer model, utilizing and developing your midwifery skills within a successful community team then this may be the opportunity for you.
You must be flexible, having the ability to work across a large geographical area and to participate in our on-call rota and shifts as required to support homebirth and the midwifery led unit.
