Registered Midwife

Channel Islands & Isle of Man
Contract type:
Full time
NHS band:
Specialist areas:
General, Hospital
Start Date:
Isle of Man Public Service
Job Ref:

Are you a registered midwife who wants to be able to provide real continuity of care, from prenatal through delivery and post-natal, in a team that is central to the Island's community? Are you self-motivated and approachable, ready to contribute to the team, providing a proactive and forward-looking approach to the service we provide?

When you join our friendly and supportive midwifery team, Hospital and Community midwifery form part of one service, which means you will be able to work across both areas, rather than being limited to one aspect of midwifery care.

You will work in a fantastic modern 17 bed facility which includes 4 birthing rooms, 2 birthing pools, dedicated maternity theatre, anaesthetic room and state of the art neo-natal suite. There is also a bereavement suite.

You will be a part of great joined up services with other parts of the health service, including the Perinatal Mental Health Service and Diabetes service, where joint clinics are run with staff from both service and a midwife are present.

You will provide great parent education services, offering a large portfolio of courses e.g. Daddy Baby care, dedicated, separate courses for 1st time and 2nd time parents, sessions for vulnerable women and sessions for teenage women.

In the Department of Health and Social Care we pride ourselves on being committed, appreciative, respectful and excellent. CARE represents what we are about, what we stand for and what we value. All our recruitment, performance management and development are based on our CARE ethos.
