Research is an important aspect and focus at our NHS Trust with our medical and dental school in the top 5 medical and dental schools in England for quality of research. The Women's Health Research programme was established in 2010 and since its inception; we have a thriving well-funded research programme with expertise in securing, managing and delivering research training and projects with strong international and national collaborative links in obstetrics and gynaecology.

This is an exciting post which will provide an opportunity for you to develop clinical research skills. We are looking for an experienced midwife or nurse to join our research team and co-ordinate the running of research studies. The post will be based at The Royal London Hospital within the Women’s Health Research team but will involve travel to other Barts Health NHS Trust as required.

The role will involve the identification of potential participants, providing information about studies and gaining informed consent. The research midwife will be a point of contact for participants and health professionals and will be responsible for managing study data and the follow-up of participants. You will work within the NHS Research Governance framework, the requirements of data protection legislation and the study protocol. Study specific training will be provided. You will also be expected to assist in the development and implementation of the wider research agenda and contribute to studies eligible for inclusion on the NIHR CRN Portfolio.

You Will Be
A registered midwife or nurse
Extremely well organised
Able to communicate effectively on all levels
You Will Have

Knowledge and understanding of research governance regulations and guidance and associated good clinical practice.
Experience of conducting or facilitating research.
The post holder will be required to exercise his / her own initiative to a significant level without direct supervision although this is readily available.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
