Birthcare Auckland is a privately owned, but Government funded primary maternity unit. We are the largest primary maternity unit in New Zealand with 45 postnatal beds and 3 newly renovated birthing rooms. Our Vision is “to provide the very best start in life” for the women and families that come to our unit.
All the women who choose to birth at Birthcare Auckland have a self-employed Community Midwife who provides continuity of care throughout the woman’s pregnancy and for six weeks after the birth. The Midwives employed by Birthcare Auckland provide support to the Community Midwife and second Midwife at the birth.
During the postnatal stay at Birthcare Auckland our mission is to teach and support breastfeeding and parentcraft to enable parents to go home as confident parents.
We are looking for Midwives from the UK who are confident and competent practitioners to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity to experience the unique autonomous Midwifery system in New Zealand whilst seeing and experiencing our country and the South Pacific. Birthcare Auckland is centrally located with good public transport links and close to beaches.
Summer is coming in New Zealand
These are fulltime positions 36 – 40 hours per week.
Rosters are flexible and you may choose to work 8 or 12 hour shifts. These are fixed term positions up to 24 months negotiable.
