HardyGroup International is pleased to be working with ACT Health’s Canberra Hospital and Health Service to seek the interest of qualified candidates for the position of Director of Nursing and Midwifery in the Division of Women, Youth & Children (WY&C). We seek an experienced Nursing & Midwifery leader with a broad understanding of Nursing & Midwifery services and contemporary models of care, who are able to work collaboratively and effectively with health leaders and Commonwealth to implement lasting service improvements. This is a dynamic opportunity to provide strategic leadership and effective management of a complex set of services, in collaboration with the Executive Director, WY&C (to whom this position reports), and with professional line reporting to the ACT Chief Nurse.
The Division of Women, Youth & Children provides extensive health services to a catchment population of over 500,000. Included are Maternity Services, Paediatric Services, Special Care Nursery and NICU and Community Programs, with many of these services co-located in a newly purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, Centenary Hospital for Women & Children, a major milestone in the ACT Government’s Health Infrastructure Program, designed to revitalise the health system.
You will utilise your senior management experience to lead change and foster a collaborative culture, while articulating a vision which unifies the Nursing and Midwifery community. In this role, you will provide strong nursing and midwifery leadership, while managing key stakeholder relationships at Commonwealth and across local health services (both within ACT and extended into regional New South Wales) to influence and implement positive change, with the ultimate aim of improving the health of Canberra families.
