Role: Avoiding Brain injury in Childbirth (ABC) Collaboration, Midwife Consultant
Contract: Part Time- 14 hours per week;
Fixed term or Secondment – please state preference on application, for 12 months / August 2022

Location: Choose to be home office based or based from RCM London HQ Office (nearest station London Bridge)

Salary: Part time salary is £23,214 per year plus £2,086 London Weighting if applicable; for secondment, we will match your salary (not including enhancements) pro rata for 14 hours per week up to a maximum of £24,000 per year

The RCM is undertaking exciting and innovative work, jointly with the RCOG, on the Avoiding Brain injury in Childbirth (ABC) collaboration.

This exciting work is to develop and deliver a national training programme for the management of impacted fetal head at caesarean section.

The aims of this important work are to:

* develop and test a range of evidence-based resources to support maternity professionals in effectively identifying, escalating, and acting upon fetal deterioration during labour, and
* improve the response to the obstetric emergency of impacted fetal head at caesarean section.

As the RCM’s Avoiding Brain injury in Childbirth (ABC) Collaboration Midwife Consultant, and registered midwife, you will provide expert professional midwifery leadership, advice, and guidance to this exciting programme of work.

You will help us to deliver our programme aims by:

* Proactively developing the programme’s processes and outputs
* Building professional relationships and working in partnership with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders
* Using your people management experience to line manage 3 project midwives who will be supporting the programme
* You will be expected to travel within England for meetings and visits to participating units for the duration of the role.
