The Role
The Department of Midwifery is looking to appoint to Senior Lecturer posts. You will join a supportive and committed team which has established a reputation for providing first-rate midwifery education, having been ranked the top university in London for midwifery in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Guardian League Tables. This role also provides an exciting opportunity to work within a Faculty that boasts excellent inter-professional collaborative working relationships.

Delivering innovative and high quality programmes at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, you will provide students with the teaching and support they need to get the very most out of their education. The role will also involve working closely with clinical placement providers, and participating in the ongoing development of our midwifery programmes. Conducting research and scholarly activity is essential in ensuring that these programmes continually reflect the evolving needs of the healthcare sector and best practice, as well as influencing national and global policy development and strategy.

The Person
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in women’s health and maternity care. You will have an excellent reputation and a proven track record of professional practice, education and/or research. You will be expected to play a substantial role in the development of the Department’s teaching and learning portfolio and the delivery of our wide ranging education provision. Your personality will enable you to inspire, motivate and communicate with students, and effectively collaborate with colleagues, as well as work equally well on your own initiative within a multi-professional environment.

Applications are encouraged from midwives or those with interest in women’s health.

Applicants should hold a recordable teaching qualification, such as a PGCHE or be willing to undertake such a programme. Additionally they should be educated to Master’s level or working towards a Master’s degree.

The Faculty
The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education is a unique partnership between Kingston University and St George’s University of London, and is a leading provider of health, social care and education. Our reputation for innovation in teaching, research excellence and graduate prospects attracts students with potential and ambition onto our nursing, midwifery, social work, paramedic science, physiotherapy, radiography and education courses.
